A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at Disney on Broadway’s Aladdin the Musical and I have to say… it was absolutely magical!
Disney Presents Aladdin on Broadway
Disney has been working to bring the beloved animated film to the New York stage for years, perfecting every element of the Broadway show, and the results are tangible. Aladdin the Musical incorporates all of the songs you know and love from the film, with new songs written by the original, Oscar-winning, musical theatre and film composer and pianist Alan Menkin (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, to name a few).
The sets are simply dazzling. Aladdin on Broadway throws you into the chaos and beauty of a Middle Eastern souk, and then elevates you to the elegance and grandeur of the palace of Princess Jasmine, taking the audience from the depths of the cave of wonders to the heights of the heavens, on a magic carpet ride.
I don’t know about you, but when I attend a Broadway show (which requires quite the investment of time and money), I look for the payoff moment – that “Ah ha! This is why I took all this time and spent all this dough on coming here – this makes it all worth it!” moment.
Aladdin the Broadway musical delivers that moment, in spades.
Aladdin on Broadway is a Must See
